Grade 12 Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Programmes: Grade 11 and 12 students interested in our OYAP programmes (Cosmetology, Transportation, Building Construction/Cabinet-Making) should see their Guidance Counsellor to pick up an application. Registration is through www.onsorts.ca

Grade 12 College and University Applications: Students applying to college can go on-line in mid-November to submit their application. Students planning to apply to universities must wait until PIN numbers arrive in Guidance (late November). All grade 12 students should see their counsellor to discuss post-secondary plans.

Grade 10 Program Planning: Students interested in our Specialist High Skills Major Programmes (Environment, Auto/Transportation, or Food and Hospitality) should see their guidance counsellor to discuss the application process. Thinking of IB in grades 11 and 12? Start your planning by talking with Mr. Keast, International Baccalaureate Coordinator, and look for information on the www. georgetowndistricthighschool.com website under the IB icon.

Grade 9: All grade 9 classes are connected with a Link Crew Leader (a grade 11 or 12 student mentor). Link leaders have helped with grade 9 orientation, encouraged participation in extra-curriculars, hosted a grade 9 dance, answered questions about high school life, and led the students in small-group activities.

Don’t forget to complete at least 10 community service hours this year!!

All grades: Course selection for 2011-2012 will be completed online in February 2011. Start your planning today. Book some time with your Guidance Counsellor to look at options for next year.

Academic Enrichment At GDHS, we offer a wide variety of oppor-tunities for our students to access academic enrichment. All students who qualify for pro-grams are encouraged to apply.
