How to Study for Math
Do the following in this order:
1. Memorize the theory in your notes (definitions, bubbles, boxes, any wording, & formulas)
2. Redo (don't just look over!) the lesson examples.
3. Redo (don't just look over!) the HW and quiz questions that you had a hard time with
4. If it's a word problem unit, redo all HW (since they can all be different) but just the set up of the equation(s) since that's the hard part
5. Do the review questions as a test of your above studying.
Notes:
a) for 2. and 3. above, redo them over and over again until you can do them without looking at the solution
b) if you still forget things on tests, when studying, also make a "cheat sheet" of all the things you think you'll forget. Then memorize it. Then the last 15 minutes before the test that you're not in another class (i.e. before school or at lunch) check that you still have it memorized. I used to do this and it really helped. Also, then you have it for the exam at the end of the year too!
c) to help you focus and not make careless errors on the test, don't have sweets/pop/junk food/sugary cereals etc. the day of the test and get enough sleep
