The purpose of this web-based forum is for members of the Ontario Math Coordinators Association (OMCA) to collaborate, share and learn in support of mathematics education in Ontario.

Logging In
OMCA members may log into the members-only area at www.omca.ca using the userid "omca" and a password which is available from the executive. The security is intentionally light for convenience, but please keep the password within OMCA members only. The password will be changed periodically as needed.

Posting [BOTTOM PANE]
To send email or reply to an existing email just send to omca@hdsb.ca. Please use descriptive subject lines for everyone's convenience. Forum postings are not forwarded to all members however they are available on the web for viewing by members for a period of 400 days. Note some messages containing minutes, agendas, etc. may be moved to the appropriate folder in the top pane (see below)

Permanent Content [TOP PANE]
These folders of members-only content include a calendar of OMCA events, meeting agendas and minutes, maps, membership information and other resources. If you would like something placed or changed in a folder in the top pane simply indicate your wishes in an email and it will be done for you by Mike Davis or Jeff Catania. OMCA Executive may obtain special accounts to maintain this content if desired.





About the OMCA Public Web Site
This site is primarily a portal for the member's only and includes barebones information about OMCA. Teachers looking for resources are redirected to http://www.oame.on.ca where all resources are stored.

The OMCA executive approves changes to the public site, but if you have an item that needs publication please bring it up at a meeting or send it to any excecutive member.

The site is hosted by Blacksun.ca (expiry 2010) and the domain by look.ca (expiry Dec, 2012).





Feedback
The site http://www.omca.ca is hosted by Blacksun web hosting out of Saskatchewan. The member's area is an aliased First Class conference from the Halton District School board. Feedback on either area is welcome (contact Jeff Catania, cataniaj@hdsb.ca).
