Learner Profile:

Students applying to Summer School include those that wish to take a new high school course leading to graduation, university, college, apprenticeship, or employment. Others enroll in upgrade courses to improve upon previously-earned marks.  Most students come from day schools but students and adults who are not in school are welcomed.

Description of Program:

Courses are offered in grades nine to twelve at all levels.  Most summer school courses offered are in the core subjects, English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Science. Classes begin July 5 and finish July 30,  running each day from 8:00 am – 1:30 pm.  Students may take one full (four week) course or two (two week) upgrade courses. Upgrade courses are for those students who wish to improve a mark for a particular course they have taken previously and finished with a mark of at least forty (40%) percent.  New courses are four weeks in length and are available to all provided the necessary prerequisites have been met.

Students who are applying to University and College can have their summer school marks sent to the appropriate Application Centre.
