Principal Doug Bothwell awards Cliff Creasy with the Halton Learning Foundation Award

SELF-RELIANT LEARNERS GRADUATE AND CELEBRATE THEIR SUCCESS

 51 students from the Halton Hills campus of Gary Allan High School received their Ontario Secondary School Diplomas last Thursday evening.  16 of the graduates also received awards for outstanding achievement in specific subjects or their overall commitment to learning.  Many of the recipients were also recognized for their positive contribution to the Halton Hills site and its students. 

 The students range in age from 17 to 60 and, whatever their age, they were all proud of their accomplishments as were their families.  Parents cheered for their children, children cheered for their parents and spouses wept with joy to see their partner achieve a life long dream.  The ceremony and reception were a celebration of each individual’s ability to overcome obstacles and juggle busy lives in order to achieve their goal.

 Many of the graduates have already set new goals for themselves.  Some are changing careers or improving their positions at work; others are going on to apprenticeships, college or university.  No matter what their destination, all of the graduates can feel pride in their achievements and confident in their ability to reach the next goals they set for themselves.
