A bit more about me
I work in the Guidance Department at M. M. Robinson High School and generally work with students whose last names begin with the letters A - GL.
Roles and Duties:
- assist students with timetable choices
- assist students with timetable changes
- show students how to access information about apprenticeships, universities and colleges
- assist students with post-secondary planning
- support students if they are experiencing difficulties with attendance
- advocate for students in their relationships with their teachers or fellow students

More about this: On Wed., Sept. 23, periods 1 & 2 and on Wed., Sept. 30, periods 4 & 5, MM will be hosting 2 events which will begin the process of informing our students about some of the choices they can make when they graduate.
On Sept. 23, Grade 12 students will attend ONE session per period.

NB: Students will be signing up for these sessions in their period 1 classes during the first week and a half of school. The staff and administration at MM Robinson support the concept that students will benefit from having as much information as possible about as many post-secondary opportunies as possible and, therefore, support 100% attendance at these events.
Additional Post-Secondary visits: Other institutions will visit MM during the lunch hours and students will be given a copy of these dates. This information will also be available on the MM wes site as soon as it is finalized.

GRADE 9 INTERVIEWS:
Beginning Monday, Sept. 14 and on subsequent Monday's, I will be meeting with each grade 9 student during period 1. The purpose of these meetings is to:
- get to know the grade 9 students I will be working with and to give them the chance to put a face to my name,
- discuss graduation requirements,
- talk about compulsory volunteer hours and,
- inform them about the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test, which is written in the spring of grade 10.
NEW STUDENTS:
I will also be meeting with each of the new registrants in my part of the alphabet to welcome them to MM and to be sure I have a better understanding of their academic/career goals.
