September Kindergarten News
It was absolutely wonderful to see all of our Senior Kindergarten children again and to meet all of our new Junior Kindergarten students and families. Everyone was very positive about starting the Kindergarten year at Glenview! We look forward to a year full of learning, sharing, growing, and of course, smiling!
For the remainder of the year, your child needs to be dropped off in the fenced-in area between 9:00 and 9:10 am. A Kindergarten teacher will be on duty each morning. No adults or siblings are permitted in the fenced-in area. The children will be accompanied to their classrooms by their teachers. In order to establish morning routines and to foster independence, we ask that parents do not accompany their child to the classroom.
Children will be dismissed at the end of the day at 3:40 pm from their outside dismissal door. No children will be dismissed in the hallway at the classroom doors. Any changes to your child's dismissal routine such as different pickup person, must be done in writing or by a phone call to the Glenview office. We cannot accept verbal messages from your child.
We go outside to play every day unless it is raining or there is a weather advisory. Remember that the children will be climbing, riding bikes and scooters, sliding and getting dirty. Comfortable clothing and running shoes are needed. Mitts and hats are recommended for the cold weather, rubber boots and slush pants are great for wet days.
