Extra Help: available every recess- students just need to ask!
Welcome to 6-3 and another great school year!
Students have a copy of their timetable inside the plastic cover of their agenda and another one posted inside their locker door. Timetables are also posted on my website. Should you have any questions or concerns please communicate them via the agenda. Your child's agenda is checked and signed by me daily.
Homework is posted daily - just follow the link. If your son/daughter requires extra support, guidance or review, I'm available every day at first recess for extra help. I will usually ask students to see me at recess if I feel they need extra guidance; however, if students feel they need some extra review they just need to ask! I'm always in my room at recess. When students have been absent from school, it is their responsibility to seek out their subject teachers (e.g. art, music, science etc.) and ask the teacher what they have missed. Students are also expected to catch up with missed work so that gaps do not occur in their learning.
A letter was sent home on the first day of school to outline, very briefly, the class routines, assessment procedures and the "Rah Rah" programme (read at home programme). This should be helpful for parents.
During the first week of school I will telephone and touch base with parents. If you have any immediate concerns, we can either chat over the phone, or set up a convenient time to meet before or after school.
Thank you to all the parents for their continued support and encouragement with their childs' learning. I look forward to meeting everyone at the school barbecue on Tuesday, September 27 from 5:30 p.m. 'til 8:00 p.m. You are also invited to visit your child's classroom at this time. Hope to see you all on Sept. 27.
