Just a few things to help your child be excited about reading

… Talk about the book's characteristics…the cover, author, illustrator,
other books the author may have written that your child might recognize?

… Predict what the story might be about…

… talk about the pictures…

…start by telling the story just by looking at the pictures… I will always remember a little boy I had in Kdg.  He told me once “The pictures are for kids that can’t read the words…when I asked about the words…the words are for kids that can’t read the pictures…
